Default access to global variables from custom context menu

Please Login to Remove!

I have an app I'm working on. It has a custom field with an associated custom context menu. One of the menu items attempts to erase a list field on the same screen. The list field and its listcallback are stored in global variables. From debugging, it looks like that when the erase method is being called, it has no access to the global variables, and I get a null pointer exception. How do I get to global variables from inside the context menu?

Thanks!
