First of all, I have a case.....and I love it I also have a screen protector but I placed it in my pocket this morning on my way to work and it scratched the screen film. I need to buy some new screen protectors anyways. What would you guys recommend? I don't need the full body, just the front screen is all. Thanks!

There is BSE (best screen protecter ever) and invisible shield...

I use the shield. Its amazingly scratch resistant.

I have used the bse in the past, and always will pay the extra few bucks for the shield.

One other thing though since you recommended the invisible shield. I've read that if you are not super careful you can get the liquid in behind the actual screen. Is that so? I heard the applicator has to be applied perfectly.

Yes, it is possible to get water inside the device if you are not careful. It is important to not use too much water, blot excess, use a blow dryer as you apply the pieces, and leave the battery out of the device for at least 12 hours after application.

I use both types, but prefer the BSE body pieces with a a case-mate privacy screen. This gets the job done.

Does the BSE not have liquid to apply as well? I'm kinda scared about this but I want to have protection for my phone. I have a case but am getting kinda annoyed at the bulky feel of it. I'm torn between IS or BSE.

BSE and the Invisible Shield both require soap solution to apply the pieces. Invisible shield ships the pieces in a kit that includes a fine mist spray bottle and a squeegee.

DOn't be too scared of the application process of the Shield. I bought my first one for my storm, and had it all installed in about 2 hours. Like Shaun said just don't use too much of the spray and you will be ok. I stuck pieces of paper in the edges of the screen and that helped to soak up any moisture that was pushed out(which wasn't much for me). I love the screen protector, but acutally removed the piecies for the sides of the device, as the corner of one started to come up(must not have gotten it to stick right to begin with). other than that I would buy the shield again.

Was the top portion of the phone hard to apply the protector where it rounds up at the top of the phone? Just curious. I'm probably going to leave the sides off anyways, don't see myself really scratching it up.

no the top and the bottom of it were easy. I opted to also leave off the buttons, as I didn't see myself scratching them....

IMO, the best and safest shield you can apply to the screen is the cheapo screen protectors sold at the VZW store. You get 3 for $10 and there is no water involved in the install. When it looks ratty, you peel it off and reapply the new one. No waiting, hair dryers, etc.

Now I use the Phantom Skinz thin skin for my Storm. The application process was actually not all that hard. You create the application solution with water and baby shampoo. Also you don't spray the phone with a solution, you dunk the piece in water and apply it. I also used a clean hand towel to apply the skin, instead of the plastic squee-gee, and soaked up water at the edges of the skin. I used a hairdryer on the phone AFTER the process and my phone was ready for use in a couple hours. The 12-24 hours period is ultra-conservative IMO.

I researched all the popular thin skinz extensively and found Phantom Skinz to be the best all around for the following reasons:

1. It's the same material as the rest. Same protection as other skins.
2. The solution is not sprayed on the phone rather you dip and apply.
3. You get 2 (two) complete sets for $25 and if you are a registered Crackberry website member you get 20% off. So 2 skins for a little less than $20. If you go half with another Storm owner you can get a skin for $10 each or just have a spare.

I have a thread on here for the application process that tells you how to get the best results.

Right now I have the PS on my phone and the factory shield on my screen. I plan to apply the PS skin to the screen when the factory shield is no longer appealing.

Not to mention that the "shield" comes in 20 some different puzzle pieces that you have to figure where they go. It took me about 30 minutes to "install" but I have to say that after 24 hours, it looks pretty good (with some slight blemishes, air bubbles.)

PS, BSE and Invisible Shield are not the same. Similar, not the same.

To be clear, you are not supposed to spray the device when applying any of the brands. All directions specify you spray or dip the pieces and your finger tips.

I stand corrected and you are also correct in another aspect as it applies to the ZAGG Invisi shield. The ZAGG has a sticky texture and moderately effects screen sensitivity. I handled a ZAGG covered phone and did not like the sticky feel of the screen which hampers sliding your finger across it. Check out these Youtube videos that discuss ZAGG on the Storm screen.

I am still on the fence with even putting the final PS skin segment on my Storm screen. I love it on the rest of the phone. I plan to try and then replace it with the VZW cheapo screen protector if it hampers sensitivity.

If your just looking for a screen protector go with seidio. Works beautifully and best of all no air bubbles!!!

I have seen a few Storms that use the seidio screen protector, and it does not appear to interfere with the touch sensitivity like the Zagg may.

there was a you tube clip where there guy repeatidly scratched the surface of the storm screen with multiple keys and there were no scratches, stated that there were no screen protector on it. who knows. look for the clip.
