Default Editing Contacts

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I just got my BB Bold and I copied my contacts from a sim that was used in a Sony ericsson, next to the name of each contact i have a number for example (John 1, or mike 2) the number represent if the number was associated as a mobile or work number....

Is there a way to export contacts to vista and edit them easily than doing it one by one through the phone.

Thanks for your help

AJ, You should be able to upload your contacts to Microsoft Outlook, edit them there, and then sync your blackberry through Outlook, to achieve what you would like.

AJ,

When you attach your BB Device to your Desk-Top Manager, does it give you the option to merge your contacts, transfer from device to Outlook, or overwrite contact on device from Outlook?

I'm using Mac computer & Software, so I'm not familiar with the Windows application.

AJ,

My MAC gives the the option to Transfer from Device to Entourage, from Entourage to Device, or merge contacts between both.

So, actually, you could load all your contacts from your device to Entourage, then edit all of them, and then write them over to your Device.

What it actually says is "When you sync your Device & Mac, the most recent version of each contact will be copied to both Mac & Blackberry"

I think you misunderstood what i am asking for. I will make it clear, I already edited my contacts using outlook like you suggested, then I sent them over to the device and that went well. However the contacts in my SIM card are still not edited like the ones stored directly to my device. So what i want to do is to copy all contacts at once from my device to the SIM card. I know how to do that by doing one at a time but can't do all at once which i need help with.

thank you

It's not possible. The only way to copy contacts from the device to the SIM is one at a time.

thanks jsconyers, I figured if it wasn't there then there is no way to do it. I don't know why RIM missed that.

I found with all my phones, they always had some extra features for contacts if they're stored on the phone instead of the sim card. So I've never kept them on my sim card due to this. So they probably "missed" it on purpose as it seems to be going out of style to actually keep the contacts on the sim card. Especially since they have such a large amount of options for stored contact information.
