Default Email not making it to my Gmail inbox

Please Login to Remove!

I have my BB email and my Gmail linked to my 8330. Here recently my emails stopped staying in my gmail online mailbox. It is like my phone is downloading the email, and then deleting it on my gmail online inbox.

What's going wrong here? I need to have a copy of my emails on the webmail page in case I get sent files (usually pdfs) so I can retrieve them when I get home.

It was working fine before I added a few filters.

Maybe your account is setup to remove the e-mail from the gmail server.

The gmail app would be a much better option.

gmail has an option to keep a copy on the server within the gmail settings on gmails website

also open your email icon, hit menu button and options, goto email reconciliation, make sure it shows your gmail account, if not, change to your gmail account... then change DELETE ON to PROMPT
this way you can choose it to delete from just handheld or from gmail and handheld(this is only for deletes, not inbox)

also if you have your gmail setup as POP and you have a client on your PC such as outlook, outlook express, thunderbird... this is the program that is ACTUALLY pulling the emails off your server, not your BB

My suggestion to you is to delete your gmail account from your bb. Then recreate it on your bb. Reason being the blackberry now supports gmail's IMAP service. And this is the only way to get it. Its much better.

My Thunderbird is configured to leave the email on the server. Always has.

It's not when I delete emails. When I get emails, they are not staying in my gmail box.

I guess I am going to try deleting my gmail off my BB and recreate it and see what happens.

if you install automatically through BIS, you will get blackberrys new proprietary connection called GIMAP, it makes gmail imap seem almost as fast as pop but still being imap. its brand new by a couple weeks, I think it still has some bugs.

however if you go manual you can manually enter the server and if you put in imap.gmail.com you will get the standard gmail imap that you would put into outlook, oe, thunderbird

I wondered if that wasn't what you were talking about. I knew the last BIS update added that, but I was under the impression that the auto setup and manual setup achieved the same results. Good to know that info.

I'm still using the manual setup as well. Guess that explains why I don't see some of the issues I've read about.
