Question BB backup files not working?

Please Login to Remove!

I've tried to restore several backup files for a client to his BB and all of them come up with an error saying they are not vaild backup files. I've searched in the forums but have found nothing on this subject.

The closest backup that works is one from Sept 2005 but he needs the one from Feb 2005.

Are there tools to fix corrupted files?

Thanks

Has he upgraded his system software since Feb 1005?

A corrupt file is what it is, a corrupt file.

Now what the client can do is try to go to backup and restore > advanced and try to restore individual databases one by one from that backup file and hope that some of the databases are recognized in the Advanced option. I would recommend attempting to restore only the databases that the client needs and forget the rest.

Ok, I did find out we had upgraded the Handheld software earlier this year. I'll try restoring individuals databases and see if that works.

sometimes making a backup, then wiping the handheld works better... or a sync sometimes works and not a back up. with the 7100 we have had to wipe it before a sync and that was the only thing that worked.. no backup file would
