on the blackberry when i go to contacts > options > desktop it says that there are 896 contacts.

however contacts is empty whether i look at business or personal, can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

try removing all filters and see what shows up. (Contacts, menu, filter, be sure all are unchecked.)

i did that, it was set to business, there was a load of contacts appear but all were called trst, i edited one and renamed it (putting a w on the end) and ALL the contacts then showed trstw which was rather weird.

I deleted that contact and so now with no filters it says no contacts, however if i go to option > desktop it says 895, so the number was only reduced by one.
