I have just upgraded my BES server to 5.0 using the upgrade kit from RIM. Everything went OK but now I want to install a second BES 5.0 to act as secondary BES server in my domain. Can I use the upgrade kit or I need to get the 5.0 software to do that.

You would need to get the kit to set the secondary server up for HA.

You don't need an upgrade kit to set up an HA standby server with BES 5.
You use the same SRP and auth key as the primary BES.

Instructions for setting up the standby server are in the install guides for BES 5.
