Default Errors with new OS 5

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my OS from 4.7.0.148 to 5.0.0.328 today (10/26).

When the device is rebooted I get these two error messages:

Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error

Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

What do these mean? How do I correct them?

Thanks.

Have you done a battery pull?

Yes -- I tried a battery pull several times and still get the same errors. I'm not sure what they mean.

Do you have a 3rd party app that starts with the system?

I was getting the same "java.lang" error after I upgraded last night as well. The Verizon tech that I worked with last night had me do a wipe and reload. Here are the directions I used:

Go to Options>Security Options>Security Wipe. "E-mails, Contacts, etc." is selected by default, but you should check the box for "User Installed Apps" as well. After those two are checked, click on Wipe.
After that, you will have to reload using the DM, SO BE SURE TO DO A BACKUP BEFORE WIPING!

After you reload using DM, you will have to resend your service books and what not since you have essentially taken everything out of the phone.

After following this process, I didn't get the "java.lang" error. I don't know if it will fix the other one, but I hope it works for you.

I got the same error and reloaded as in the message.
I had to reload all the non-standard apps but the new load is very snappy.
I miss the themes for 4.7 but I can live with that.

I have done the security swipe twice now, and I still get the error messages before I even try to reinstall anything. Anyone have any suggestions?
