Default windows 7 and desktop - no go

Please Login to Remove!

Decided to upgrade( one new computer and one older one ) to 64 bit windows 7. I am now unable to sync my blackberry to outlook. I spent more than 1 hr with RIM tech support. They were unable to sync either and finally admitted that they needed a new desktop upgrade. I am still able to sync with Vista.
Windows 7 has been announced for a long time and Beta versions since early this year. It is mind boggling that RIM has not been aware of this issue and has waited this long to finally work to get a fix.

I like my Blackberry and need a UMA phone but if a 3G version from another phone manufacturer comes along soon, I'll be happy to switch. RIM really has not delivered

Can you confirm which version of Desktop Manager you are running?
RIM did release a Service Pack for V.5 (5.0.1) to make it compatible with 7.

I upgraded to Windows 7 last weekend. I re-loaded DTM 5.0 and it worked fine for me. I have since downloaded and loaded 5.01 but had not experienced any problems with 5.0. Milage seems to vary.

RIM released fairly quickly. But other vendors are even worse. HP won't be releasing the updated software for my all-in-one printer until January. Luckily, it runs even better with the native Windows 7 drivers than it ever did with HP sofware.

Which version of Outlook are you running? Outlook 2010 Beta doesn't work. I have to have 2007 installed as well before I can sync to my computer.

Default windows 7 and desktop further thoughts

I'm running windows 7 64 bit and have the latest desktop which was released Oct 26 5.0.1 and I get an unspecified error on both of my computers and am unable to sync either one. I'm also using an 8820 with 4.5 operating system.

Default more thoughts

I'm also running Outlook 2007 but I never get far enough to sync. I can only get to reset my preferences before I get an unspecified error on one computer and cannot get that far on the other. Again Windows 7 64 bit, and desktop 5.0.1

I don't even get that far with Windows 7 64 bit. Mine just stops during installation. I see 2 bars of the installation manager then it just goes away.
