Default Additional Newbie Questions

Ok so I'm using a 7100T and while the documentation mentions a Password Keeper, I don't see it on my BB. I also get tired of entering my userid and password's into some "online" applications, is there anything like Roboform that can fill in or remember my password and userids?

I notice the Tmobile theme creates an "APPLICATION" icon that houses my add on applications, is there a way to create new Folder like icons other then creating a new theme?? Can I control where those sub applications appear?

Thanks in advance.

Michael

1) Password app is probably not installed. Load up the desktop software and handheld software on your pc and install it.

2) No you can't create new folders to store apps and other misc icons in.

I likewise can't find "Password Keeper". I just got my 7100t a few weeks ago, and I've now reloaded the Desktop Manager, but I don't find "Password Keeper" anywhere.

You need to load the Handheld Software from T-Mobile (http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade) and install that.

Then delete VENDOR.XML from your C: drive.

Start Desktop Manager and it should start the Application Loader. Make sure Password Keeper is checked off to be installed.

Thanks! It's now shown up. Now I just need to figure out what I'd use Password Keeper for. By the way, what is the function of the Vendor.XML file?

Search for the answer. Don't you think its so much more rewarding when you can accomplish such an easy task as that of getting an answer to a simple question all by yourself? I promise, amongst all of the talk of the file on this forum, there will be an explanation of what it is used for.

I HAVE searched this forum, and all I find are folks saying to delete it. So, nothing explains what Vendor.XML is used for, only that deleting it seems to fix a range of problems. Makes a new BB user wonder why it's there at all, and hence, the question.

Vendor.XML looks like it is used by Desktop Manager to communicate to the handheld, determine what version of the handheld is present, and then determine which version of software to load. It gets created everytime that DM starts and sees a connected BB.

All this is conjecture. I'm not sure anyone has done any detailed analysis on it.
