ok so I had a BBerry bold on ATT and decided to upgrade the sofware from 4XXXX to 9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel489_PL5.2.0.19_A5.0.0.314
then it was rebooting on web surfing etc and I was happy with the improved speed so I was like well lets go this route.....
9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel546_PL5.2.0.23_A5.0.0.348
so now I am getting constant reboots and it wont even get to the os it completely reboots 3/4 of the way through the load cycle, no operating system no menus NOTHING NADA. bar moves 3/4th of the way and then it cycles again
is there a secret reset method or way to reformat it? I did remove the sim card and did remove the memory card all to no avail
thanks in advance for any input on this one as I hope I can help someone fix their problem with my problem
It's borderline paranoia to run a leaked image (which is basically experimental code) on a production handset and expect stability. Performance and newly introduced featureset might be there (and in the case of the 5.x tree they both are), but stability almost always lacks behind.
On top of that RIM doesn't want to hear about it if it goes bang in your face, your carrier doesn't want to hear about it, even your BES admin is unhappy, you're all alone.
IMHO you might want to stay on 4.6 for now. There are reports online of people that managed to software-wipe before downgrading so to break the reboot cycle.
Good luck.
