Profiles > advanced > scroll down to Use Active Profile Except For ... Highligh a contact > menu > edit > edit the exception as desired.

Hey ira I don't have advanced options as a coice in my profiles I only have the option to edit profiles

You probably see it differently compared to my old model and OS. However you click through to the screen that lists your profiles, at which you would select a profile to edit, do it and then scroll down and look below the list of profiles. Do you see a list of contacts? These would be the contacts you have customized. If you see this, highlight a contact, then bring up the menu and select edit. On the next screen, do you see "Use profile" and to the right a setting, probably "Active Profile"? Edit that setting. Change it to Loud, or something.

What I suspect is you have it set to Active Profile, so the customized setting overrides the active profile, whatever is the active profile, and thus you see what you are seeing.

Test it and see if I'm right.
