Just wanted to let everyone know my experience last week. I drop my phone, unfortunately often. About 2 months ago, after a pretty hard bounce the chrome plastic retaining ring and trackball popped out. I found both, and looking at the retaining ring, it only had two pairs of retaining rings left on opposing sides. I knew it needed to be replaced, but I stuck the trackball back in, snapped in the retaining ring and it worked.
Fast forward two months, and after dropping it a dozen times, I finally dropped it and the trackball was nowhere to be found. Well, I could order one but the fastest reasonable shipping seemed to be 2-3 days out. On a whim I called the local Verizon Wireless store, not an authorized reseller, but the actual VZW store. Well, the replaced it for free, the only cost was the 30 minutes waiting in tech support. After listening to the two screaming customers before me (nothing like soccer moms with mall rat daughters who just
need to txt) I walked up and said "I lost my marble, can you find my marble?" They had it replaced in less than a minute.
Oh, and it's nice to have a white trackball back
