Overview
After using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to upgrade a BlackBerry smartphone from BlackBerry® Device Software version x.x to BlackBerry Device Software version 5.x, a number of applications that were previously installed needed to be installed again. For more information, see KB19913.
After reinstalling the missing applications, the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones and MySpace for BlackBerry smartphones applications do not have an icon within the Applications folder on the BlackBerry smartphone. These applications cannot be launched within BlackBerry App World by going to My World. Reinstalling either Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones or MySpace for BlackBerry smartphones using My World with the respective download icon that may appear on the BlackBerry smartphone, or from
BlackBerry App World, produce this issue as well.
Additionally, the following error message appears on the BlackBerry smartphone upon startup:
Uncaught exception: java.lang.error
The Email Settings icon in the setup folder is also not present after the upgrade.

Cause
Required modules for the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones, MySpace for BlackBerry smartphones, and Email Settings applications are not properly updated to BlackBerry Device Software version 5.0 during an application load where Backup and restore third-party applications is selected in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
This issue is currently under investigation by our development team.
