When connected via a known, working usb 2.0 port, my pc gives no indication the device is plugged in. The same port worked great with my 8320. I have tried different data cables, so I know that isn't the issue. I have tried on different PC's and my laptop, same issue. The phone will begin charging, but the PC gives no prompt. No audible indication a device was plugged in. I have the BB settings for mass storage, loaded and reloaded the latest DM, usb drivers and 8900 software. This is extremely frustrating, as I have 2000 contacts on outlook that need to be synced. HELP!!!

get google sync. that at least will get your contacts off your phone and onto something else.

take the battery out. wait 30 seconds. plug the phone into a direct usb port with a known to be working cable. connect the battery, watch the phone boot up.

also, make sure that desktop manager is open before you plug in the phone.

if you know how, open device manager and watch for it to refresh (it will do this when a new device is plugged into the computer)
