Angry Duplicate Address Entries

Please Login to Remove!

Has anybody had this problem?
My address book has duplicated most (not all) of my address entries even though I have "Allow Duplicate Names" disabled.

I tried wiping the handheld and after reconfig and resync I now have duplicates in outlook. Argh!

Any insight suggestions would be great.

Are you syncing on two different computers? I ran into that same issue once when attempting to keep my Outlook at work (non-BES) and at home sync'd. Also, if you have are like me and have 400+ contacts, and ended up with twice that by mistake, there is a program or programs out there than can help elimnate duplicate Outlook records. Give it a Google and see if it can help you.

No SIM addresses that I am aware of...

I am only syncing with one PC, and the BB Desktop PIM Configuration is set to wireless sync...

I'll try removing the duplicates from Outlook and seeing if that transfers to the BB.

I had seen this where I was keeping some Contact info on my server Contact area and others in my Personal Contact area. Somehow my settings inside the desktop manager were set to stop dealing with the Personal area, so then all my contacts on the handheld from Personal were synced into my Server Contacts. Was not too happy about that. But it was easily remedied.
