Smile Verizon Tour Email Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Have been on the phone with Verizon for hours and they can't seem to fix the problem I am having with my phone. My email account was set up to yahoo.verizon.net I received a notice from Verizon saying that I would not be able to use the yahoo link. We tried changing the default, but it continues going back to the yahoo link. Verizon can't seem to figure out the problem.

Anyone else have any other ideas and maybe know something more than Verizon? And, if I have to take my battery out one more time, I just might scream

Thanks!

Can you explain the problem a little better? I don't quite understand your question.

Yahoo.verizon.net is only for incoming/outgoing servers. Your Verizon email address is "username @verizon.net"

That shouldn't change. Maybe they've changed the servers you use. For the email I got with Verizon FiOS I now use these:

incoming.verizon.net for my incoming POP3 server.
outgoing.verizon.net for my outgoing SMTP server.

You can change those server names on your account by logging into your Verizon BIS page and editing the account.

Weird. Is Verizon's setup that different than Sprint's? When I first turned on my BB Tour from Sprint, I was presented with the e-mail wizard... and I setup both my Yahoo and Comcast e-mail accounts without a problem. I didn't even have to type in any SMTP or POP info for Comcast- it went through automatically.

I know there are several articles out there regarding how to setup Blackberry BIS e-mail service. The nice thing is that I don't have to go through Sprint's online BIS page to edit- I can do all the editing directly through the phone by going under the "setup" option and selecting "e-mail settings".
