Default main menu icons cant delete.

Please Login to Remove!

My gf has a 8330 curve and has about 5 icons on her main menu/desktop that she can't delete. She did not download anything and would never Download anything related to an ESPN icon/app. I clicked on some of the icons and it gives terms and conditions Ans asks to exit or download the app. I went into the app manager and none of the 5 icons were present. How in the heck do I delete these icons on the main menu?

Wirelessly posted

You are looking at download links that are pushed to the device by the carrier via service book. These are not applications, at least not until you download and install. You can delete the service book but it will just be pushed again. Best thing to do is just hide the icon.

Thanks for the quick reply. Couple questions.

Any way to get Verizon to stop pushing these icons?

Are these icons taking up any memory on the phone?

Nope. Hide them and forget about them is the best you can do.

If you read your Customer Agreement, you agreed to it when you activated your line of service.

Ditto. You can make your anger known to customer service, in a polite way, of course. But it probably won't have much impact in the bigger scheme of things. And changing carriers isn't much of a solution either; all carriers are doing more or less the same. So that's why we say the best thing to do is hide and forget.
