Default BESX Bluetooth Desktop Sync

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 9700 that has the both the Desktop Connectivity and Wireless Bypass are not checked and grayed out so I can't check them. BESX doesn't offer any options in the IT policy to set those to "False" like full blown BES has. What are my options here? I really would like to sync my blackberry without a cable to my laptop.

Thanks!!!

If you have a BES activated device... why are you using BlackBerry Desktop software on the laptop? I'm confused.

The handheld should be syncing wirelessly to BES on its own. You don't need any software on the laptop.

For DM based backup, tethering to my laptop those are the first two things i'd like to not have to grab a cable for.

You said, "I really would like to sync my blackberry without a cable to my laptop."
You don't need Desktop Manager at all for that.

Your device is also wirelessly backed up by way of the 'Wireless Backup' feature of BES.
It backs itself up over the air.

Tethering really isn't related to BES at all (other than BES being able to deny this feature by way of IT policy), and I don't believe you need DM for this either.

Trust me I know all of that i have been administrating BES (professionally at work, I am referring in this thread for my home use) for years. I should have used different language, my bad. I wanted to use DM 5 because it just makes it easier for me to initiate a DUN connection. Not to mention that I like to keep a separate backup of my device, hence the question.
