Default Bold 9700 multiple issues - BES Related?

Please Login to Remove!

User has an AT&T Bold 9700, was upgraded from an 8310 last week. User is on a BES. After setup on the Bold, I restored all his data from the 8310. Yesterday, the Bold started having multiple issues. Phone hung up every time it was pulled from holster to answer. Dancing icons on the screen. Best one yet is that the BB Button was bringing up the Application Switcher. I had to press it abut 10 times to see a menu. Plus, the left hand side convenience button wont bring anything up. I finally moved his SIM card to a brand new 9700 and activated him. I decided not to restore anything. Within 5 minutes, the exact same problems happened again. Anyone seen anything like this before? I am thinking it might be an issue with his profile on the BES, but I REALLY don't want to delete it and make the user have to spend a half hour putting all his custom settings back in.

Holding the Menu Button too long will bring up the App Switcher. Have you verified that the left convenience key is actually set to open an application?

Well that's something I was not aware of and I tried it on my 9700 to reproduce it. But this is happening on the users BB with just a short push of the button.

Try a different OS on the 9700 and see if that makes a difference.

What about the convenience key? What is it mapped to?

It was mapped to contacts, then I tried calendar and it still did not work. I could not get over the fact the wiping his original BB completely restored it to normal.

I decided to do the option of last resort. I removed him from the BES and then on the Domino server, I removed his state database (we use Lotus Notes). Added him back onto the BES and a clean fresh profile looks like it resolved all of the issues we were having. We have over 1000 users and its the first time I have ever seen the BES State Database become corrupted. First time for everything I guess.

Thanks for all of the assistance.
