Default Phone will not recognize memory cards at all

Please Login to Remove!

I have a storm and it came with an 8 GB memory card which my phone would read, I formatted the card on my computer, which recognizes the card and I formatted the phone...but nothing works, it still didn't recognize it on my phone. All of the settings are right. So I assumed the card was faulty, so I bought a new one, a 16GB one. It didn't recognize it either, so I formatted the card, the phone..ect. Still nothing.

Anyone have the same problem or have any suggestions? Anything would be great..

You are likely formatting it incorrectly. It needs to be FAT32 in order to work in the phone.

Yeah I formatted it in FAT32, 4096 bytes.

I went through three different cards myself, and I can only say that my phone fried them all either with a bad corruption on the card itself or a bad card reader on the phone.

I know that all three cards were good..but once inserted, they could not be read by the phone and another devices, e.g. camera, pc, mac, etc.

Ultimately, I changed immedately the device - through a warranty exchange and toss the cards in the bin and in one case sent back to the vendor for a warranty exchange.

I have no clue still on what would cause this...

you said you formatted the phone?? try formating the card in the phone. Unless the card socket is either dirty or defective it should work. Use DM to move files and photos etc back and forth.
