Default Blackberry OS 6 Hybrids

I don't know what a hybrid OS is and do not understand the referenced atricle so I would appreciate comments from people who understand the article and implications of using a hybrid system. I have a Storm 2 on Verizon.

Thanks

Looks like its a beta version off a non production phone (example from that article) that has been modified enough to load on other phones. And sounds like an operational crap shoot.

I agree with your cautions. I guess what surprised me is that it seems to be indicating that it is somehow adding features

I am unaware if this question has been asked, but will there be a version of OS 6 for the Storm 9530?

I understand that RIM has pretty much abandoned the first gen Storm, but it would be a nice bone to throw Storm owners still under a 2 year contract or those who actually plinked down $500 for it.

From what I've read, the current version of phones don't have the hardware (CPU and Memory) necessary to run 6.x. Hence you'll need to be a new phone to get it.

From what you have read does that also apply to the updated browser or do you think that I will be able to have it on my Storm 2?

From what I've read, this is not official just yet. There is hope for the Storm 2 and OS 6. The 9530 will not have the capability.

Hybrids are the way to go.
Before O/S Usage 125 MB
After O/S Usage 54 MB

Before the equivalent of Windows XP
After the equivalent of Windows 7

Your carrier knows there is better operating software out there but they don't want the hassles of all the tech support. Instead, you get what they give you and your phone is sluggish. Hybrids are an amalgamation of all that works well from different devices software, rolled up into one nice neat package. Easily the best thing you can do for your BB experience though there is a slight learning curve.
