Hi,

So, this is my 4th or 5th install of the Blackberry Desktop Manager. Every time I reinstall it, it asks me if I want to update some apps on my Blackberry (8520), and gives a very long list of the apps that need to be updated. So then I click to continue, and it tells me that I need to update the Application Loader to continue with updating my Blackberry. So I click on yes to update the AL, it downloads the update, but then it tells me something about existing software running, and that I need to click ok to shut them down and disconnect the device, or cancel the whole update. After I click ok, and reconnect my device, It just continues repeating the sequence. Can anyone offer some assistance or some advice on how to fix this annoying problem? Or should I just stay away from updating?

And as a follow up, on the BDM, I didn't install Blackberry Media Manager when it told me to, and now I need to install it again to put some music on my BB, as the Blackberry Media Sync says that my device doesn't support BB Media Sync. When I click on install under Media Manager, it says that it can't install, and that I need to insert the program CD in again and install the Desktop Manager again to include Media Sync. When I try that, it tells me that a newer version of desktop manager is already installed, and I need to uninstall it to continue. What should I do to install Media Manager?

I had same problem

Remove the memory card from blackberry, easily just formate the Blackberry.
remove the program from your PC. go to system tools and choose a check point and restore your PC

after that Install the program again in your PC and connect your blackbery along with it.
and it will work again.

Warning: if you want to update. the layout of the black berry will change and the options will do too

I took out the batter and took out the micro SD card. Then I reinserted them. I uninstalled the Blackberry Desktop software and restored my computer to a checkpoint before I ever installed any Blackberry software. Then I reinstalled the Desktop software again, and tried to update, but still the same problem.
