For some reason I can't dial a phone number on my BB Bold 9700 . The keys don't respond by making a number but they do produce a tone ( I have all keys set to make that tone) On the number 4 key for example, Search , then Text & Name are below it then messages, encrypted messages, calendar etc are below that.. I am entirely new to this so please respond by email... my address is MANY THANKS!!!!!!

Sounds like you have dialing from the home screen disabled. To check, click Call logs> Menu>Options>general options>Dial from home screen Yes or no.
