I am currently using Desktop Software 6.0.1.18. Are my pictures backed up whenever I perform a backup? I have them saved on my memory card. I want to save them on my pc in case I lose my phone. Thanks.

The backup with desktop manager only does main memory, not the microSD card. Look at the media sync feature and see if you can do what you want, or enable mass storage mode and manually copy the files you want.
