Default Possible solution to the 7290 dropping calls problem!

Like many of us, I kept having my calls dropped on my 7290 (a minute or two into the call the other person suddenly couldn't hear me).

I took the advice of a fellow forum member and upgraded my old 32k simcard (left over from my previous phone) to a new 64k simcard... and no dropped calls since!

I'd suggest anyone with this problem tries this fix. FYI, the Cingular store only gave me a free simcard upgrade when I called customer service first and had them approve it.

I'm on my 3rd 7290 and I just found out yesterday that it has this issue as well. My SIM card is the 64k card already.

What I've found is that you can make the problem go away for a while by removing and replacing the battery. Perhaps that's why replacing your sim card fixed it?? (for now??)

I had tried removing and replacing the battery before and this didn't seem to work.

How can you tell the size of a sim card?

New ones say 64k in big letters, old ones have 32k written in smaller type.
