Default Advice Wanted

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Blackberry experts. Please assist.
1. How do I turn Application Permissions On?
2. Every call that comes in says Unknown Number. How do I get to see the numbers of calls coming in that have not hidden their numbers?

Thanks

Eddie

1. Options > Applications > highlight the application > press the Menu button > select "Edit Permissions".

2. Do you subscribe to "Caller ID" or a similar feature with your cell phone service provider? You will not, however, be able to see the caller ID for numbers that the callers have blocked that feature.

Hi Mama, Thanks for coming back.

1. I got "Options" but no "Applications" just "Third party Application" which is blank. So do we have different 9800 Torches??

2. Yes I know that I will not see the numbers of callers who have blocked their numbers but what about callers who have not blocked?? Must I subscribe to some "Caller ID" thing

If you're running OS 6 it might be: Options > Device > Application Management.

If your carrier doesn't offer Caller ID, or if it's an add-on to your regular minutes plan that you have not paid for you won't get that feature.

Here's a longshot: Open the Phone app and use the Menu key to select Options > Smart Dialing. Make sure the country selected is your country. If you have the wrong country set then local calls will appear as international calls to your BlackBerry and that might prevent standard caller id from functioning.

Thanks, rambo. I missed looking at the model and realizing that the user would be on OS 6.0.
