Default am I the only crazy one here

Please Login to Remove!

I just upgraded from 7730 to 8700 unlocked, with T-mobile.
I love the screen and the EDGE network on the 8700, but I loved the big screen and the great Keyboard on the 7730.
after one week of using the 8700, I went back to my old 7730.
AM I CRAZY. or does anyone else feels that 7730 is much better for basic blackberry usage?

Screen has never been an issue for myself, but I admit that I have stubby thumbs and typing was much easier on my 7290. I really don't care for the keyboard on my 8700, I actually hate it.

Based on your pic.. you are one big guy...

Seriously.. stubby thumbs makes for rough row on the 8700 from what I can tell. Worse so than the 72/75/77's. If you get along with the suretype, then the biggest and easiest to thumb keys are the 71xx's.

I agree the keyboard is absolutely the worst attribute of the 8700 I find myself using it less and less, however I have to disagree on the screen. The resolution and clarity of the 8700 screen are of no comparasion to any older blackberry model IMHO.

You know what they say about guys with big hands.....

Don't buy an 8700!

Seriously though, it's the best phone/pim/email device I've ever used. It is my first BB though so I have nothing to compare it to.

I have a harder time typing on my 8700 than I do on my 7730 or 6230, but I love it just the same.

7730 and 6230 are my backup and abusable devices.

I have progressed from a 950 to a 7280 and finally to the 8700c. I agree it is a bit more difficult to type on the 8700 but after a couple of weeks of use I was able to type as effectively on the 8700 as i was on the 7280. It did take some getting used to but I think the 8700 is by far the best BB I have owned.

Not here. It took me a little while to get used to the 8700c keyboard but I wouldn't switch back now. How long did you try the 8700c? I would have recommended at least a week of at least moderate use before making a decision unless you have really big hands or really poor dexterity.

ya.. i've been using mine for about 5-6 weeks and i've gotten really good with it.... i picked up a 72xx and had a harder time on it than on my 8700. i think if you give it a couple weeks it becomes much easier.

ok, thank you all, since I don't have a "very big hand" I will give it two weeks to see if i will get used to it, after all I realy like 8700, it is just the keyboard that is killing me.
but I guess it will be worth to give it a chance
