Anyone found a shortcut to SMS from the Home Screen on the Zen theme?
BTW, I didn't realize that N is a shortcut to Blackberry Messenger. Might apply to all themes.

I have not found a kbd shortcut, but you can assign the convenience keys to SMS with Zen.
I found another anomaly with Zen. When in the messages screen (email) alt-I and alt-O do not seem to filter the messages for incoming and outgoing. Am I missing something or did this functionality dissappear for others too?

I just tried it and the alt-I and alt-O features work fine for me.

Thanks for the quick check. It still doesn't work for me.
Any ideas on options/menu items that could be set incorrectly for me?

Not that I know of. Try a reset and see if that changes anything. Or try switching to another theme, then back to Zen.

Redine your search keys. If you have not done that it takes alot of trackwheel clicks. My doctor won't let me. but if you need help I will do so. Let me know.

They are not listed. I tried switching themes (back to wave). The alt-i and alt-o do not work there either. I pulled the battery and still no dice.
When I go through all the spin and click to get "recall" all I see is "voicemail(v)". How do I add the alt-i and alt-o back in there?
Thanks,
Steve

Ok, I found how to redefine the search keys. Strange how they got "undefined" in the first place.
Thanks for the help!

Instead of recall select new and redefine the search yourself. While you are at it add others that you like. It's a decent search function.

This is probably a stupid question, but what exact syntax do you use for your filter/search function to separate out emails from different inboxes? (it has to be able to catch emails that are sent to, cced, or bcced to you, as well as messages sent through a mailing list to you (so your email address is not in any of the above fields), so I don't think it works to just have "IF FOUND IN tofield" kind of filters, right?

You can limit a search to a folder. Check out the search function to see how it can be limited and you will find that you can probably do what you want to.

I'm actually doing the filtering on Cingulars' BIS (BWC) so the emails are already in the correct folders....However, when they get pushed to my bb they just arrive in 'inbox'. I manually highlight the message, wheelClick and say file...you will see a folder view with the folder of the account (in my case Gmail) already highlighted because it is already stored in that folder on the webclient...just not on the device. Then hit enter and you're golden.
Hope that helps.

I'm not sure we're on the same page here. What I'm trying to do is have the search separate out emails that were drawn from the various email accounts I have my BB set to check. So yeah, they're all going to be in the Inbox area, what I'm trying to do is be able to hit, says, Alt+G and have it find only the emails that were sent to my gmail address. I'm just wondering what the proper syntax for such a saved search would be.

Justin, skip the trackwheel. Just hit I from the message list. If its not the right folder, start typing the folder name. Give it a try.

I only have my work email. I will push Yahoo when the BIS upgrade is done in April by Cingular. When you go into the define searches dialog, look under Services. Mine says desktop only. Does your have a choice of the different email providers. If not I am not sure you can sort the way you want to?

Ah hah! That's exactly what I was looking for, the Services option. For some reason it never occured to me to check for that. Thanks!

how do you add a recall search? I only have the option to edit. incmming, mms, out, phone, sms and vm are preprogrammed.
Thanks.
