Default 7130 as Modem - HeLp!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Followed the direction in Marks post to a tee.

It looks like it's dialing up....than tries to verify the information and I get this error......Unable to connect to blackberry modem. Error #691. Access denied because user name/password invalid on domain"

So I uninstalled everything and started from scratch. Got the same error.

I'm using the 7130e and verizon.

When i run the diagnostic test on the modem I get a success at the top and RIM info on the bottom.. However I do get this on these parts -

AT#CLS=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED
AT+GCI? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED
AT+GCI=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED

Do I need to set up a name/password on my blackberry? I have the latest OS from verizion and the phone is 5 days old.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

You will need to contact Verizon and have them add tethering to your account at an additional $15/mo on the unlimited data plan. Then download the VZAccess software at their web site. There's no other way to use the 7130 as a modem.

That's not completely correct. You can use shark modem w/o verizon's $15 tax but its not the greatest. Check out http://www.mobishark.com/. I used it on my 7130e. Pretty slow but I havn't played with it while in EVDO coverage.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/106)

Using shark modem, I was able to get my alltel 7130 to work. Great piece of software. Fedinstely worth the money.
