Default Exchange Server Error

Please Login to Remove!

My work "small company" email is hosted on a MS Exchange Server. When I set the account up on the BIS everything works fine until I go to send someone an email at work. Like I said I can send an email to anyone on any domain except for ours at work. When I do I get the following error sent back to me.

"The following message to <xxxxx@xxxx-xxx.org> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem: 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 554-'<xxxxx@xxxx-xxx.org>: Sender address rejected: 554 Spoofed sender detected. Domain and IP address mismatch.'"

I asked our IT contractor about it and he said they don’t recommend BlackBerrys because of these types of problems and he told me to get a Smart Phone. I personally think he just doesn’t want to deal with it and thought I could maybe get an answer here as I have with everything else.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What is you BB "send from address"? Are you change it from BIS email address to your company email address? If yes, change to BIS email address and try again. It may blocked by firewall or smap filter, because the "send from address" and the mail server address mismatch.

Login to your BIS account, you can "Create a BlackBerry e-mail address" from there.

I have an account set up on the BIS for the email address I am using. I want the emails sent from the BlackBerry to reflect the account that I have set up on it.

Yeah, BIS is spoofing your sent from address, assuming of course its set up to your corporate email account. So your mail server is seeing mail that should becoming from itself but it originated from a different mail server. As a security precaution it is rejecting it as spoofed.

You can either changed your sent from address, probably not preferred, or speak to your Exchange hosting company and see if this can be modified. I know it can but whether it can be changed for just you or whether it has to be disabled entirely, I don't know.

Correct, I dont want the sent from address to be changed as I want it to match my corporate email address. Our server is actually here in our office and the IT guy we use said that if he changed the restrictions to make it work that it could effect our spam protection.

I hope there is a way to make this work as I couldnt get the Mail Connector to work properly either.

Help Help im melting.

Mail Connector for redirector you Exchange mail to BIS, it can't resolve your problem. Change the firewall or security system configuration can fix it.

Can I do that to just my account? Or will the changes effect everybody. If it changes everybodys I dont think out IT person will want to do it. But I really want to get this working as I am getting ready to go out of town and know that I will have to be emailing people. Also are these changes that I could make myself? Any hslp is greatly appreciated.
