Default Tmobile users question regarding Data/SMS package

According to a poster here
http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=5798
When you purchase your BB and Unlimited Data plan from Tmobile included is Unlimited text messaging. Us other people who used like Venicom have to pay seperately for texting. I for one on Tmobile's site only saw unlimited text included with Sidekicks.
I called Tmobile after I signed up for my 8700g w/ unlimited and asked if I had texting and they said no i had to add the option. So just so I know whether i'm getting screwed for 4 months or not what's the verdict?

I have the T-mo Blackberry plan with 1000 voice minutes and unlimited BB data including BIS and BES.

Everything is included. I have had this plan for a year. I have never seen any charges for SMS or data usage.

There IS a blackberry plan which includes unlimeted TEXT messaging. It is called the blackberry minutes and mail 1000. You only get 1000 daytime mins; there is no free nights and weekends included with that plan. This plan costs $59.99
You CAN add free nigths and weekends onto it for an extra $6.99

If ur bill is already $60 a month without any text included, the aforementioned method is ur best bet cost wise. Simply because you will end up paying an extra $15 for the unlimedted text bundle.
The only let down is that you only get TEXT messages, instead of the bundle of picture, mms, audo and text.
But then again y pay for all that stuff and you don't even have a camera fone?

I have the Voice Barred Unlimited BB Data Plan. It features no minutes, unlimited data and ONLY 300 messages. I had to add the $14.99/mo Unlimited Messaging to cover the email, text and IM messages I send daily. I got a $900bill once for going WAY over the allotment of messages I had last year (I forgot what package of messages I had. I think it was the 400 or 1000 message plan). So if you're going to be using a lot of IMs, emails and/or text, go for the Unlimited $14.99 add on to whatever plan you have.

great thing about tmo you can add or remove a feature anytime you want (except for the BuddyTime feature, for $10 it gives you unlimited mobile to mobile and txt, once you remove this feature you cant put it back) or you can even switch your plan anytime you want, aslong as you stay with them for 1 or 2yrs( depending how long your contract is).

if you try #MSG# then send
the system will give you details on what you've used so far for SMS and what is left for the month.

I just tried it and it says 31 USED, unlim remaining.

Do u have the 8700G, and If you do, do u have EDGE?
The reason I'm asking is that I called tmobile today and asked them to switch me that that 1000 mins and mail plan, and the female rep told me that this plan doesn't come with EDGE.
I said whoa! If that's the case then I would stick with my current plan.

Who is Venicom? Are they are reseller of TMO?

Why not get one of the suggested plans with SMS included? Are you using more than 1K minutes?

No EDGE on the minutes and mail plan??? What a bummer. I was seriously giving thought to upgrade to the 8700G and keeping my current plan as is. I assumed that once I upgraded, it would automatically pick up the EDGE signal at no additional charge. I guess I'll have to ask the CSR if that's the case and what charges, if any, would apply in order to get EDGE.

I can't find the BuddyTime package anywhere on the t-mobile site. Does this exist for the BB minutes and mail plan? I have quite a few t-mobile buddies that I communicate with on a daily basis. This could prove useful once I make more use of my minutes......

Venicom is a Tmo reseller that was giving a good deal on 8700's and they say your applicable for any plan that tmobile offers...

I talked to Tmo tonight and changed to the Blackberry Minutes, Mail and More Ultra plan for 79.99. This is the same as the one listed in previous posts but includes 1500 voice minutes and. They also have one for BES or both BES/BIS.

they dont have buddytime addon feature anymore(sorry if i got you confused). this was a promotional feature they got i think since back 2001/2002(voicestream) to lure kids like me and others to use sms and unlimited mobile to mobile. this worked for them coz i was able to conviced my friends and family to switched carriers to voicestream(which is now tmobile). if you have this feature before you can keep this feature aslong as you have a voiceplan, whatever type of voiceplan that is. the reason i mentioned this Buddytime feature coz i know its the only feature they have that u can NOT just add and remove aslong as you want. but the rest of the addon features they got, you can just add and remove as much as you may please(ps. you can add/remove/change an addon features once a month only, next billing cycle thats another story lol, ). my point was, buddytime was the only addon feature that you cant add or remove anytime you want. once you take that thing off its gone for life(for the people who had it before anyway)
