Do you do the painting yourself?

Hard to tell how it looks from those pictures (they're sort of small and blurry.)

Got any more pictures?

Id be interested in finding out the steps, though the images are a bit hard to see I photoshopped the apple one and I like the look and would like to know how it was done. I have a spare case I want to practice this on. Thanks.

Somewhere out there are Blackberrys with real RED cases. Not painted but the plastic is red thru and thru. I meet a guy in a meeting and he had this red blackberry. It was a 7500 series and well worn and yet the red was still showing. He said they were promotion BBs from RIM given to only a few and are not in production. It did look good!

I saw a transparent case BlackBerry at RIM HQ a few years back.. Never saw a red or anything other colours, but I wouldn't be surprised if they exist. They were 6200 and 7200 series devices that the product marketing folks had.

Now that I think back the red one I saw was a 7200 series and not 7500

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7290/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Hmm. Seems I tried to start this exact same thread not too long ago. Oh well. Anyways I had mine painted orange and blue with a denver broncos logo on the back.

Maybe it was the color that caused a lack of interest!

Sounds like pretty good colors to me! Just replace the broncos logo with a Gator logo.

Did you post pictures in the thread that you started? I'd like to see more pictures of modified bb's.

Red and black would look just fine too. Anything but the boring grey/silver from cingular.

so, i have a buddy who is a self-proclaimed inventor, i'd call him more of a tinker-er......but he's a master of the soldering iron and says he can change my keyboard lights to match my case..... any thoughts on this? is that even possible without destroying my bb?

Would the paint not scratch off if painted ontop of the original?

I've seen the odd RIM exec with red 7100 devices. Nothing a bit of primer won't solve!!!!

I did not modify my 7520 but I did a swarovski crystal thingy on my 7510. I used it pretty heavily too and I only ever lost one rhinestone. Clear rhinestones all over the back with my initial in purple script. Gorgeous!!
