And just like that they've released a version for the 71xx.

Nice catch. Are you planning on trying it out? If so, let us know if itxxx8217;s worth the $$$.

I've downloaded the app.

I'm going away for the weekend so I probably won't get to play around with it until next week.

There is a similar app which I haven't tried yet called notifire which does something similar to this program. Perhaps those that are not willing to shell out for this program can try notifire.

According to handango no. It will not come up if you search using an 8700.

It is extremely steep for this appl. but (there’s always a but) I am having some fun with it though. I wonder if there’s a way to import pictures from the BB Picture folder into PhonePix? It would be much easier than using the Windows Application.

dunno about him but WOW, if this works that will definitely make me feel "complete" too. I'm actually gonna start the trial right now.. Just kinda modding out my contacts pictures currently..that's pretty awesome if you don't have to deal with resizing them in photoshop. But for future reference anyone know how to resize pictures accordingly for your blackberry 8700 to fit without looking stretched? I know that certain pictures that obviously are not in the horizontal form won't fit perfectly. But is there settings to somehow zoom accordingly?

I'll let you know how this software works.

The major downside to this app for me is the fact that it doesn't work when the device is "locked."

Since I carry my Blackberry in my pocket without a case or holster I have to keep it looked most of the time to prevent accidental key presses.

Once I saw that it doesn't work when the device is locked I became less excited.

yeah i just tested it with it locked and it doesn't work. That's BS if you ask me (lol anger vent). I just spent 4 hours playing around with resizing people's photo's and aligning the contacts name, changing the font colors etc. HAHA ...SUPER WEAK! Oh and there seems to be a bug or maybe something i didn't do properly that causes me to be unable to answer the call until 4-5 rings later. It goes from the caller ID picture then to the regular call screen for a quick second..and only then i can answer the call. MAN OH MAN WHY??!?!?!?!?!. this thing was darn near perfect. I gotta email them some suggestions. :( Anyone else try this out?

* I guess a good side to this prog is that it at least keeps the custom ringtone. And you have a program that allows you to upload custom ringers via usb rather than doing the whole coolservice route. If I can get past the Answer Call bug then I just may keep this prog for kicks. Because when my 8700 is at home at least I can "see" everything

I do like this and I like it a lot. PhonePix has some nice features that make me enjoy my BB even more. There are some issues with it though that I havenxxx8217;t figured out yet. My positives with this app outweigh the negatives (kind of). One of my negative feelings about PhonePix is the price tag, I could be wrong but I donxxx8217;t know if itxxx8217;s worth $29.95. I could go into more details about PhonePix but in the back of my mind Ixxx8217;m thinking of how much this app is and is it worth it.

What are the other issues you are having?

And how are you getting around the lack of being able to lock your device?
