I dont see EDGE mentioned on the T-Mobile site! This would be BS if this is not an EDGE handheld! Please tell me I am wrong!

According to one person I talk to at the company owned T-mobile store, he said that it will cost too much money to keep the database updated on what areas have Edge coverage and which one does not.

He said that most areas that T-mobile covers should have Edge coverage by now.

In my opinion, I think they simply took away the information because they don't want people to decide if they should get T-mobile based on whether or not they have Edge coverage in their area.

YOu are maybe right.. because i'm sure people would want to have EDGE on their service.

EDGE is included the unlimited blackberry plan ($20/month) with T-Mo. I've used an 8700 fairly extensively in the Seattle and San Francisco areas and the EDGE service has worked pretty well (espeically in Seattle.) I've found too, when I had an 8700 and 7130 with Cingular, that EDGE (and voice) coverage was more extensive around the US, but you pay more.
