Default BB Today

In reading past threads going as far back as May of 2005 forum members were concerned abiut the use of BB Today screen because it seemed to drain the battery life. I kept reading the threads and following the debate as to whether this was indeed an effect of BB Today. the discussion seemed to trail off with a passage of time. I need to know if BB Today truly impacts the battery life of the 8700c as I am considering it.

1. Can you use the BB Today with the Zen theme.

2. Can people speak to the pluses and minuses of the BB Today. Should I go for it or leave it alone

Don't worry. BBToday does not run on 4.1

I have BB8700g and I did have BBToday at one point on my device. I think I have 4.1 too. I also had the Zen theme at the same time. It worked fine. The BBToday screen would come up first and then if I pressed the back button, my regular zen theme would come up on the home screen.

As far as it draining battery life, yes it does. I had it for a week and all of a sudden my battery was draining quickly. Then I took it off, and instantly back to my normal, great battery life. Just so ya know...

BBToday does drain the battery if you don't reduce the polling interval for the stock ticker and weather. Once I did this, battery life improved drastically!
