Default As an 8703 user, my impression of the Blackberry Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my 8703e about 2 weeks ago and love it compared to my old 7750.

A coworker picked up the Pearl today and I activated it for her.

This thing is SMALL. It's very thin, narrow, but tall. Definitely too small to hold on to and use as a Blackberry.

I don't care at all for the ball to navigate the screen, it just doesn't feel accurate to me. Also, when pushing the ball to select an item, I found it turning as it depressed and ending up to select the item next to the one I wanted.

It is tiny, and for someone who wants it for 90% telephone, 9% address book & calendar, and 1% E-mail, they will probably like it.

Hmm - I don't meet your metrics, but I love the Pearl. Before that I had the 950, 957, 5810, 6710, 6210, 7230, 7100t, 7105t, 7290, 8700g and now the Pearl. I love it.

To each his own I guess.

The Pearl is easily the best looking BB yet. But it also feels too small for me. When they come out with the Pearl-sized BB with a QWERTY keyboard, I might jump at that... but I really don't like the Sure Type. That's the main reason why I went from a 7105t to a 8700g: for the Keyboard.
But some people can use SureType just fine.. I could not get used to it.

I actually have them both and have grown to love the trackball..it is faster and just as accurate. Suretype is improved, however, it still screws up words. It is a bit small for lots of typing.

i agree with this part of your post 100% . i personally think that the 8703e is the best looking BB to date since it has the QWERTY keyboard and all the usual BB goodies and sexy black body vs. the tiny in my gorilla hands Pearl . while i like the extra features of the Pearl like camera , Mp3 player , and Memory card i don't like the fact its so small and keyboard even smaller . still a nice phone though .

Just in case you aren't joking, go to Research In Motion

It is on the home page and you can find all the pictures / video you could want!
