I don't think that will work - the 2.5mm plug needs to have four contacts (three black rings). I have this one and it definitely works:

I think the way it actually works generally is:
1=black insulator for mono
2=black insulator is for stero
3=stero with mic capability

I wouldn't say "just fine". Bump it a little bit or move the wrong way and it will easily come out and pause your music....

Here is an adapter that I bought at Radio Shack. The sales guy said "All the cell phone people buy this one."

Did not have the phone with me when I bought it, so I took his word for it.

Five bucks wasted because it does NOT work. Not much money, but I did waste time going there to pick one up and you should have seen the know-it-all attitude the Radio Shack guy displayed, especially when I asked "Are you sure this will work?"

I think the adapter needs the three bands on the plug, not two.

I ordered one from Seidio, but got the below message.

This ish definitely does not work. The Pearl just simply ignored the connection.

Pay for what you get, I guess.
