Default Closing applications?

Please Login to Remove!

I have been a Pocket PC and Palm user before and I'm new to blackberry 8700g.

I'm wandering if blackberry is similar to Pocket PC OS in which it's better to close any applications not in use rather than just switching between applications for better performance?

or BB is similar to Palm where we can just simply switch between different applications without impacting performance?

Any help or comments will be appreciated! Thanks

I'm somewhat of a freak about this sort of thing, but I always close anything that I'm not using at that moment. You never know, that app sitting open might be robbing me of a byte of processing power I could use for something else

I don't know the technical answer to your question, but my experience has been it is not like Pocket PC......I might be switching between calendar, tasks, address book and email, and google mobile maps, and it doesn't seem to make a difference.....but then again others may have different experience.
