Mine worked with no problems. Have you added wap.voicestream.com to your TCP/APN settings?

Then just to make sure, are you using this on T-Mobile's network, or do you have a different carrier?

Well... not sure what advice to give then. Just tried mine, and it is still working, and I'm using the Rogers OS.

I dont really suggest using that program.
1. It doesnt seem to stay connected.
2. It uses text messages, try Yak-On it uses data and will save you money in the long run if you pay for text messages.

When you first opened OZ, did you get a pop up window that asked if you wanted to use Instant Messaging to act as a server? If so, did you click "Allow this Connection"?

The Yahoo! Messenger for BB is very good, too. Uses data, not text messages.

First this client is SLOW. (takes about 20-30 seconds to send/receive messages)
Second this client loses connection easily.
Third I found it uses text messages after i spent like $3.00 on them.

I use ramble for aim and hte blackberry clients for the rest, I am thinking about buying yak-on.

Quite frequently what happens on BB's (not just the Pearl) is that the user accidentally disables the IM client, not realizing what those first popups were about. Go into Options->Security Options->Firewall, press the menu button and hit reset settings. Once that's done, pull the battery while it's still on, wait a few seconds and put it back together. Once the device boots up (it'll take awhile longer, that's normal), you'll get popups asking if you want to allow AIM or SMS connections to work as a server. Check the option for All or Don't ask me again, and hit allow. Do that for each popup and then retry your aim. It should work fine thereafter.

The current version of Yak-On (1.10.30) crashes quite frequently on the 8100.

I'm having problems with the OZ client. I'm thinking of just paying the $20 and using Yak-On.

I mainly use AIM and MSN for instant messaging, is Yak-On the right way to go or can you guys suggest something better?

We are having this problem on my wifes 7105T although mine works fine. Hers would hang at the 20% mark and never go any farther. I did what you suggested here and it worked for her....thanks!!!
