Default Perl Processor

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know what the exact model number for a BlackBerry Perl? From what I've gathered from Googlinh around, its a Intel XScale processor, but I cannot figure out the extact model. Also, does anyone know if these new BlackBerry's use any type of CPU cache?

Thanks.

What's the difference between a "CPU cache" and a "phone cache?"

That's what I wonder myself too. Does the 8100 use the same processor as the 8700? If not, what is the difference and which one is better?

I assume it would be just like a computer processor...cpu cache is memory that resides on the processor as opposed to the ram that can be add to the memory slots on the motherboard. The more memory you have on the processor the faster instructions can be executed.

The Pearl has the same processor used in the 8700 models, the Intel XScale PXA901 @ 312mhz.
