Default 7250 Low Ringer

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Been reading through the posts and have not seen this mentioned.

Bought a new 7250 and the ringer is not loud enough, no matter which rintone I choose. (comparing it to a Motorola V710).

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,
George

I just bought one myself, and it does the SAME thing. I don't have one here to compare, but I could swear the 7230's from T-mobile are much easier to hear. Fortunately, I'm not using mine as a phone but if I was I'd never be able to hear it ringing in my briefcase...

If you find out anything, please share!

I called Nextel & Motorola complaining about the volume of the ringing on my 7250 when I bought it. They both told me that the model is designed that way, and that that is as loud as it gets. That's one of the reasons I'm trying to find a comfortable bluetooth piece to wear, because there is no way I'll ever hear the thing ringing, even on loud. I also wish there was some way to let it ring more than 3 times before going to voice mail. Does anyone know how to do that? If I could make it ring 5-6 times, I'd have a better chance of noticing it before another missed call!

You can contact Nextel Customer Care and request that they extend the time your phone rings before it goes to VM. I just did the same thing about a week ago, and it is kinda nice to be able to take your time answering, and not have to rush each time you realize it's ringing. I get about 6 full rings (as opposed to the default 3) now.

Just switched from Treo to 7250 VZW and low ring volume was my first issue. I downloaded the longer ringtones from Chris' site to improve the sound but its very low. I could hear the Treo all over my house and the BB is impossible to hear.

Can VZW adjust the VM number as well ?

Just checked with VZW, they cant adjust number of rings for me but extended the VM delay time to 45 seconds which is the limit.

Contact Tech Support if you want this. Default is 30 seconds.

You are correct ...... you can extend your ring before u going into VMail...... I have been using my 7250 for almost a month now with the standard ring tone and it's fine to me.
