Default Need Help - My BES Administrator doesn't seem to know what they are doing

BES Admins -

I am trying to explain to my company's BES Admin that I should be able to access my calendar live and the company address book from my blackberry. They don't seem to get it or know how to do it.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can help my IT team bring the functionality alive?

Thank you in advance.

Just turn on the rights in BES Administration to allow Wireless Sync. It's not hard, and well worth it. No additional security risks.

Okay - re the company address book - as a policy my line is that I prefer that users don't dl a copy of the entire company directory to their device because it's fricken' huge - you might want to check to make sure that's not what they are saying no to. If you want to access the company address book you can do a 'lookup' to get your corporate contacts.

Same as Krissy, our company address book in Domino is pretty big, I'd cringe at the idea of someone wanting it on their device. And Krissy is right, Lookups work very well instead of having the whole address book on the device.

What can be done though, since the Blackberry devices are synched with the users personal address book, is copy needed entries from the company address book to their personal address book.

You guys ROCK!

I'm linked to my personal address book on GroupWise. I knew that the company directory was too big for a sync, but I had no idea that lookup hooked into the company address book! Sure enough, it works.

That's huge!
