Default 8100: Screen automatically dimming

Please Login to Remove!

My 8100 dims on its own and remains that way for a while even if I continue to use the device. Then minutes later, the LCD may become 100% bright again. Is there some sort of power save feature that I am not aware of?

Depending on the lighting conditions the screen will auto adjust itself. This property is similar to the 8700, 7130, etc.

You can disable this feature in screen/keyboard if you are using software version 4.2.0.42. If you are using a newer OS than this, you are stuck with it.

Sucks to be me, I guess? LOL. I just recently downloaded the software from the My T-Mobile site, so I'm assuming it's very likely that I have a version that is newer than the one you've stated.

Yes, you are probably right. Many people want that feature back--disabling the auto-dim. However, the rumor around here is that it's not coming back so we are probably going to have to live with it.
