Default Google Talk

I recently got my BB Pearl and decided to try the free apps first and then decide if I like it or not.
I setup GoogleTalk with AIM and MSN and so far no problems whatsoever and the UI isn't so bad.
I think I'll keep on using it, it's free!!!

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 8100 Pearl: BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Just dropped GoogleTalk onto my new Pearl. All my contacts I had came up on AIM perfectly.

Now, you can also use Google Talk on your BlackBerry. Download Google Talk for BlackBerry devices at http://www.blackberry.com/GoogleTalk.

I installed Googletalk, and it's working fine, but it looks like it only connects to other Googletalk users - can't it connect to AIM users?

I use Ramble for AIM but it'll disconnect you after a period of inactivity I believe.

I run a trillian script for IM windows creation which forwards the first IM to my BB email from my PC. Then I can login and chat. The jabber servers seem real hit and miss, but GT does work well. This is really just a notification of an initial instant message with the details of the user so I can choose to return and chat from my PC, call or login with chat on the pearl.

I use blat to forward the message with the %displayname% variable.

It really wouldn't work if I received a gazillion instant messages a day.
