Alright, so there's this program called "Pulse" that says it can tether your Blackberry 8700 to your Mac using Bluetooth. So now no wires and you don't have to use parallels to get on the net. Only problem? The company says this:
Pulse Gateway Server
Notes
Pulse requires a proxy server to work. You can set up your own private Pulse Gateway on any compatible Linux or Mac computer at home or work with dedicated broadband internet access.
Alternatively you can
subscribe to Austin Web Development's reasonably priced dedicated gateway service.
What the heck. Why do I need a network to connect to the Blackberry? If I have a network already, then I wouldn't need to connect to the blackberry. That makes no sense. Unless I am reading this wrong. So what exactly do I have to do to make pulse work with my Mac and my Blackberry 8700? If I have to already have a network active on my Mac, then there is no reason to buy this program.
