Are you using Desktop Manager? What version?

What operating system on your PC.

Shouldn't have any problems if you are running Desktop Manager.

Btw, welcome to the forums!

When opening the Desktop Manager, do you see "disabled" or "disconnected" at the bottom? If so, click on "Options" and then "Connection Settings" and choose "USB" from the drop-down menu beside connection and hit "Detect".

If this can't find it, try the following.

Plug the USB cable into a rear USB port instead of on of the front of the PC. If this is a laptop, right click on "My Computer" and then choose "Properties". Choose the "Hardware" tab and then click on "Device Manager". On this opens, to go the bottom where is says "Universal Serial Bus Controller" and expand it. Right click on everyone of the entries named "USB Root Hub", go to the last tab called "Power Management" and take the checkmark out for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." Make sure you do it for ALL the "USB Root Hub" entries and then restart the computer, try again.

Take care,

Andrew M.

I'm having the same problem as the OP. On desktop manager it shows that my comp is connected to the email server ("Online") but that my BB is not connected to my comp ("disconnected").

I just got my new 8800 yesterday and once I installed the new version of desktop manager, it synched right up.

Now today I show that it is connected (the charging icon is on), but it has barely been charging all day (It has been plugged in for 90% of the day and it has only gone from 65% to 75%). And it has never synched today.

In the device manager it is showing up but it has a yellow error exclamation mark. When I plug it in, it makes a the "new device connected sound" but immediately makes the "device disconnected sound".

It is plugged into the same USB port that I had my 7230 plugged into for years. I tried switching ports but with no luck.

Help!
