Exclamation Need feedback on "unlockblackberry.org"

Please Login to Remove!

I have a locked BB and was thinking about unlocking it. Searched many websites and seem to like what "unlockblackberry.org" offeres. Did anyone use their services before? Are they good/fast? Not a scam?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Welcome to BlackBerryForums.com

They're actually a sponsor on this website. That should be a good indicator of their reputation.
We've used them in the past without any problems at all.

EDIT: My apologies. I just realized you were asking about unlockblackberry.ORG.
I have no experience with them.
unlockblackberry.NET is the sponsor on this site. We have used unlockblackberry.net, and they were fine.

I'd suggest a reputable service like unlockblackberry.net that is trusted and has a good standing with forum members. Being a sponsor of the site also says allot!

Dont try the unlocking service of this site: UnlockTelecom - Remotely Unlock your mobile/cell phone - Any network, any country!
The company is a fraud!!!

I would not say that it's a good service if you want your codes within a week. Website promises a timeframe between 5-7 days. I am already waiting for 20 days. After some time I asked for my money back, but I got a reply that it is impossible and I have to wait for 4 more days. 4 days later nothing happened, I sent an e-mail again. I got a reply that the codes are going to be done in next few hours. 12 hours passed since then, nothing happened. So, my conclusion for now is. Ether it's an awfully slow service (not as advertised) or it's a scam. I'll keep you updated.

Alex

Sorry to hear that. It's already 17 hours since their "few hours promise" and still no news from these people.

Assuming you paid via credit card, it might be time to contact them and report fraud.

You're right, but I'll give these guys another day or so. Just in case.

I've sent three emails over the last three days as well as a PM on these very forums. Still no response. I have sent an email to him that if I don't hear anything in 24 hours I will make my claim through Paypal. Thankfully, I have a full transcript of all email communication that will help with my case.

Same here my friend. I sent him same e-mails with 24h notice. I also have all the logs of e-mail communication. I already started a dispute through PayPal, which is basically the same thing as trying to resolve this issue via e-mail, but in this case log is visible to PayPal people. I though this might help if I'll have to take the case to a claim level. I suggest you do the same thing.

Did you try calling him?

Alex

PS-please keep me updated on any info you get from this guy

I did try calling the toll-free number and left a numeric page for a callback but nothing resulted from that. I think I'll take your route right away and move forward with the claim. I sent an email this morning but haven't heard anything from and it's already early afternoon (plus the previous emails went largely ignored). Good luck. Will post any progress here.

Eric

I think penguin3107 might be right. Look at the domain registration information:

UnlockBlackberry.org Unlock Blackberry

They are using a proxy registrar, private registration, to conceal the indentitiy of the site owner(s). That's not a good sign. There is no information about the company on the website, another bad sign.

The site says they are certified by this company:

audit.org

You could try contacting them. But who knows if they are reputable.

If there's anything I hate, it's online fraud. This looks suspicious to me.

Apparently, doing a search on these forums, others have used this service with success...that is why I decided to try using them. Nonetheless, I have filed a claim with Paypal and will await their decision. In the meantime, I have pretty much written off the purchase and will chalk it up as a business loss when I claim my taxes come tax time.

I have given unlockblackberry.org the IMEI for my 8300 late last Thursday along with my payment. On Tuesday evening I received an email from them that I would have the unlock code in a few hours as Monday was a holiday in Canada. I got a message on Wednesday that the human behind this website had an emergency appendectomy and was admitted to Century City Doctors Hospital late Tuesday night. I called the hospital and in fact there is some one registered who has the same name as he gave me. I have not heard anything since Wednesday however. I have left emails and vmails. It is now Saturday and I still have no unlock code. It has been over a week. I am now more curious than angry and hope that this is not a scam.

Thanks for the update. If it isn't a scam then hopefully things are alright. Unfortunately, the dispute process has already started and will wait for that the proceed.
