Default Duplicate Calendar

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so, just got my new curve. Used the Switch Device Wizard to move data and apps from my 8800. Worked fine but when I went to sync w/ Outlook it also duplicated my entire calendar!!! Anyway to undo this or do I have to delete the dups?

wipe the device through the security settings, the same happened with mine.
Go to options, security, general settings, press the applications key, select "wipe handheld". That will clear it to factory settings. Re-sync afterwards and that is it.

I was going to sync in a rush earlier and noticed it was trying to duplicate calendar events so I just cancelled and decided to deal with it later, since I did not want 400 contacts to duplicate also. This is annoying, but tolerable until a fix is out. But I do have to say it seems like a Windows®'ish boo-boo in production.

Anyway to just delete all calendar and re-sync or would that delete all my calendar entries on outlook? I hate to do a whipe since i just spent an hour or so reinstalling all my apps and all.

OK. I'm afraid to do this. I've just configured everything, including all my 3rd party apps. I don't want to have to start over from factory settings. First of all, do you mean RESTORE afterwards, or Re-Sync afterwards? Secondly, will this restore all my defaults, or am I back to tweeking everything again?

I already had to do a wipe the day I got the 8300. I had to remove BES, as it would not work with my time and billing software. Wiping restores to factory defaults, if I recall, so you will be starting as if it were a new device. Adding apps and tweaking both the apps and BB settings.

I wonder how the 8300 could be released with this calendar bug? I am not getting duplicates, but rather upon synching, no changes are reflected on the BB. Hmm, not what I was hoping for.

I am not going to wipe again, either I will wait a day or so for a fix ,or possibly return. I really like this 8300, but can not live with calendar bugs.

The "Change Device Wizard" works perfectly. Everything from you old device is moved perfectly to your new device.

The problem is when you sync, that is where the bug is. Just make sure you old device calendar is synced before you use the "Change Device Wizard" and you will be fine. I only use Outlook for back up purposes anyway.

I wish RIM would come up with their own Desktop Contact manager, something liek Palm had. I never liked Outlook!

I'm getting duplicates on some future meetings, and other meetings that I added to the 8300 are not reflecting in Outlook after syncing.

There is definitely a bug in the Calendar/Sync program.

Anybody else getting this?

Yes. Pinstack has a pretty comprehensive thread about this issue. Latest information appears to suggest the problem is with DM SP2.

I have no duplicates, just no updates since initial synch.

I had the same problem. under calender options menu - it said I had Zero entries- even though my calender was full. I sent my service books again as I read here, or there, and it resolved the calender sync issue- and I use a MacBook!!!
