Default A Good SIMPLE Headset for 8800

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know where I can get a high quality, simple, wired headset for the 8800?

Just 2.5mm plug, microphone, mute button, and 1 earbud. Maybe a shirt clip.

Like the headset that came with my 8700g. I can't seem to use that headset with my 8800. I think the connections are totally different on the new phone.

I like the looks of the Plantronics MX200 but doubt that it will work with the 8800.

**OR** if anyone knows of a great bluetooth headset that can charge using the same charger as the blackberry. I've got 5 bluetooth headsets now and they all suck in certain ways.

Thanks!
John

Didn't you get a headset with the 8800? I got one and it looks like it would suit you just fine if you wanted simple.

As for using the same adapter as the BB, I have a Motorola H700 and it uses the same 'mini USB' connector as the BB. I have plugged it in and it looks like it would charge though I haven't kept it plugged in for a extended time. I would bet that it works fine though as well as all other headset / chargers that use the mini USB connection.

Your H700 will charge from the Blackberry charger and USB cable. I have never used the Motorola charger with my H700.

I am getting a BB 8800 in a few days from work... should be interesting, I have gone from Palm to Windows Mobile and now to BlackBerry... It is the only way to get company email...

I too will be looking for a wired headset (backup or for loud environments), but this is the bluetooth headset I will order in a week or so.... I like the usb connector to recharge and the caller id.. vibrate mode should be interesting. My only concern is will it be comfortable?

Hey, I did get a wired headset with my 8800, but it has 2 speakers and that makes for a real tangled mess. I would want the exact same headset, except with just one earbud.

I am able to use the headset that came with my old 7250 with my 8830 even though the number of sections on the plug is 3 instead of 4. It works fine. Based on this I assume you can use pretty much any 2.5mm headset with the 8830.

Interesting, because I cannot use the headset that came with my 8700g with my 8800. It just won't work. Neither can I use my big Panasonic 2.5mm headset that I use with my home cordless phone.

Then my assumption must be wrong I haven't tried anything other than the 7250 ear buds, but they work great.

That looks like a pretty slick headset. Let me know how you like it if you get it!

I use the simple Motorola Silver Ones that used to come with the Old V60 phones. They work great, pick up your voice perfect and I never have complaints from anyone about hearing me or fading out at all.

Try this link...

I have one that I use that is a custom built Plantronics with a custom micrphone. It is absolutely the best I have ever had and the custom boom mic is excellent at eliminating background noise (the problem with all BT headsets). Not sure if I can post the link here though. I got if off of eBay as they are custom built. Maybe try and email me or something...
